Dealing with Alcohol and other Drug Use
It's Complicated!
There is no ONE easy solution to a complicated problem – there are pieces that work, and there are pieces that work under some conditions and not others.
We suggest pooling resources, knowledge and understanding about how we can prevent alcohol and other drug use causing damage in communities. Let’s join forces!!!!
Voices United is not just the Silicon Valley Resource on Substance Use and Addiction, we are also actively involved in the community.
1. VOICES UNITED co-ordinates several community efforts. The Friday Night Live youth leadership project for Santa Clara County, the Youthphoria Coalition for adults and youth to work together reducing underage and binge drinking and drug use in Santa Clara County, and the San Jose Urban Coalition addressing complex issues in the downtown ‘entertainment zone’ of San Jose. For more information, click on the links and they will take you to the Projects section of the website.
2. VOICES UNITED is also involved in community events, addresses issues impacting alcohol and other drug and related issues at City Council, the Board of Supervisors, and at the State and National level, meetings and conferences.
